PRODUCT DETAILS
Mineral-insulated cables, abbreviated as MI cables, are commonly referred to domestically as magnesium oxide cables or fire-resistant cables when used for wiring. Mineral-insulated cables have a longer history of development abroad. As early as the late 19th century, a Swiss engineer, Arnold Francois Borel, proposed the concept of mineral-insulated cables and obtained a patent in 1896. After France and the UK began production between 1934 and 1936, their technology rapidly developed. Major industrialized countries such as Italy, Canada, Australia, the US, the Soviet Union, and Japan followed suit. my country also began developing and producing them in the 1960s, starting mass production at the end of the 20th century. In the 21st century, they were included in national fire protection design standards and are widely used domestically. Mineral-insulated cables are cables using annealed copper as the conductor, dense magnesium oxide as insulation, and annealed copper tubing as the sheath. If necessary, a plastic outer sheath is extruded over the annealed copper sheath. For special applications requiring smokeless and halogen-free conditions, a low-smoke and halogen-free sheath can be added.
Advantages
Because this type of cable is made entirely of inorganic materials, it possesses advantages that other cables cannot match. These include fire resistance, high current carrying capacity, resistance to mechanical damage, halogen-free and non-toxic, explosion-proof, waterproof, corrosion-resistant, long lifespan, safety, overload resistance, high temperature resistance, low cost, small bending radius, termite and rodent resistance, and copper sheath used as a protective grounding wire.
